FanDuel NFL Value Plays: Week 17

Let’s find some low-cost value plays at each position so you can mix/match your lineups to take down your tournaments this week. Value here are represented by $6,900 or less for quarterbacks, $6,500 or less for running backs/wide receivers, $5,500 or less on tight ends, $4,500 for kicker and $4,500 and lower for defenses.

We are looking at Sun-Mon slate only, so if you have any questions, hit me up in the Comments Area or reach out to me on Twitter @JasonWalkerDFS.

Quarterbacks:

E.J. Manuel – BUF at NYJ – $5,000 – It is not just that Manuel is going to really crush value here, even though the Bills have a team total of 22.8 points and the Jets are 31st against the pass. Manuel’s 5K salary allows you a lot of freedom at the other positions to pick and choose the really relevant games on the slate and the key players therein.

Running Backs:

Jacquizz Rodgers – TB vs. CAR – $5,200 – With Tampa actually playing for a playoff spot (well, ok, they need a tie in the WAS/NYG game, but still) and Doug Martin out for Week 17, Rodgers will get a lot of the snaps here at a very good price in a solid game total (46).

Mark Ingram – NO at ATL – $6,100 – Ingram, indoors, against the 28th ranked run defense of the Falcons is good enough reason to roster Ingram. The wild, 56.6 game total that accompanies that is the lock you need to pull the trigger for Ingram here.

Fitzgerald Toussaint – PIT vs. CLE – $4,500 – The Steelers, locked into the #3 seed, will likely sit Le’Veon Bell and D’Angelo Williams against the hapless Browns, meaning that Toussaint will soak up the goodness, at home, with a positive game script.

Frank Gore – IND vs. JAX – $6,200 – The steady volume of cash game staple Gore is up again as the Colts have solidified themselves as a top ten run blocking line this season and have a 25.8 team total as a 4.5 point favorite to buttress Gore here.

Wide Receivers:

Steve Smith Sr. – BAL at CIN – $5,800 – Never underestimate the power of the narrative. Smith has often delivered in narrative games (ANECDOTE ALERT), but certainly the vibe of what Smith has indicated will be his final game in the NFL will not be lost on Joe Flacco and the rest of the team. Additionally, he has 30 targets over the last four weeks, so the volume has been there as well.

Golden Tate – DET vs. GB – $5,700 – Super important game and Tate has averaged seven catches a week over the last month of the season. The game total is nearly 50 and this game could easily shoot out against a Green Bay defense that is now ranked 20th in the league against the pass.

Allen Robinson – JAC at IND – $6,100 – He emerged last week in a good matchup and he has another one here, against the very struggling Vontae Davis, and a game total of 47. Robinson and Bortles should finish the season strong in this game.

Adam Thielen – MIN vs. CHI – $6,500 – A team total of 24, Stefon Diggs continues to miss practice, Thielen has a positive individual matchup this week and is coming off a 15 target, 12 catch mega-game.

Tight Ends:

Coby Fleener  – NO  at ATL – $4,800 – Or should I say Coby “It’s a Trap!”  Fleener. The game total is so high and the Falcons have been merely average at defending the TE position. Represents the highest upside in this range.

Jared Cook – GB at DET – $4,800 – Should be a huge game with quite a bit of passing from the Packers. Cook will run routes against a Lions defense that is 30th in the league against tight ends.

Kickers and Defense:

Roberto Aguayo ($4,500) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense ($4,500) – In a must win game, at home, against the Panthers, who are ranked 23rd in turnovers per drive, while the Bucs are ranked third in defensive turnovers per drive. The team total for Tampa is 25.5 and they are favored by five, making Aguayo a solid min price pick here.

Good luck this week! – JW
